The marketers and retailers can get more comparative brand data with the latest update of Google

Google announced a latest version of the Google insights for the shopping insights. It provides you with the data on what people are searching for on Google related to the products and brands. Shopping insight will tell the customers, which products and brands are famous, or are trending up and down, or how do they vary by region in the U.S.

WHAT’S THE TRENDING NEWS – There are several fresh features in the shopping insights tool. Some of them are given below –

  • There is a new version added data for more than 55,000 products and more than 45,000 brands.
  • It also provides the customers with 5000 categories to explore.
  • It is also possible to compare the popularity of the searches with the popularity of the brand.
  • The users will also get personalized reports with the weekly and monthly trends.

HOW DOES IT MATTER TO THE MARKETERS?

Marketers can easily drill into the Google insights data by region in order to understand about the hot and trending products, their know-how, why and where. The popularity comparison can be made easily. It basically means that retailers can track the relative popularity of the brands within the categories defined and adjust the strategies accordingly.

Aman Govil, the project lead for the shopping insights wrote, “Retailers can track the relative popularity of various brands within a category and adjust their strategies accordingly,”

Furthermore, the retailers and the marketers can have a look at the weekly trends during a specified time period, let’s say the last year holiday season, to check out what brands were trending and how were they different and distinct from the others. This way, the marketers can optimize their tactics in a better season and respond to the changing needs and preferences of the customers within distinct categories. Govil further continued, “By tracking this data weekly, marketers can optimize their tactics in season, and respond to changing consumer preferences within different categories,”

The best part is that you can also create up to 10 weekly and monthly email reports for the products and categories that you want to follow.
